Claudio Gonzáles (College – Economics)

Born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1990, Claudio Gonzalez is a B.A. candidate at Harvard College concentrating in Economics. Claudio attended school in Mexico City all his life except for two years spent in Ampleforth College, England.

While in high-school, Claudio co-founded and ran, along with a small group of friends, a non-profit organization that provided financial incentives for underprivileged high-school students in the State of Mexico. The foundation’s main goal was to bridge the gap between privileged young students in Mexico City and those who can barely stay in public high schools just outside of the City’s borders. This was done not only educationally but also culturally as events were organized in order for students from both extremes of the socio-economic ladder to share their experiences and come closer together if ever so slightly. This work, particularly striving for more equality of opportunity in Mexico and elsewhere, remains to be continued…
